Counting The Days Until...

I'm sorry that the posts have been so sporadic. I have been working daily on my book (based on the life of my grandmother). Tom has been encouraging me to finish - the end is in sight!

Her story took place in Oklahoma 100 years ago, and with Oklahoma celebrating their centennial this year, I REALLY want to finish it in time to take advantage of a peeked interest in this state's history.

I cannot tell you how much this journey has meant to me. My eyes are being opened in ways that are difficult to explain. I think I could write another book on what it was like writing a book based on someone I love so much. It's like God is introducing my grandmother (Big Mama) to me, and what I am discovering is priceless! My Mom has been a tremendous help too! Her knowledge, memory and love of genealogy has been a wonderful resource to me. We've traveled together to Oklahoma three times now, and I hope to make one more trip with her.

Oh! My granddaughters are growing healthy and strong, and they are cuter than ever! Jason and Ashley moved in with us last weekend. They will be here with us until August 18th when they will move into a house that my Mom is buying so that she can be closer to my brother and me. We are very excited to have her just around the corner from us, instead of a 30 minute drive in Zellwood. So, if you think of it, pray that I will finish my book and that the story will draw young people to get to know their grandparents. They have stories worth hearing. Once they die, a library of information dies with them. May we pass on the heritage we've been given and give God glory for every step of the way.
