Now that I am officially "middle-aged" I find myself often thinking about growing old. What will it be like? Will I continue to work hard for the Lord or will I be lured into slowing down enjoying life as it happens? I pray that I will follow the path that God has ordained for me until I take my last breath. The Bible says, "So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come." - Psalm 71:18
I was excited to discover that Desiring God Ministries recently hosted a conference titled: Stand - A Call for the Endurance of the Saints. The featured speakers were John Piper, Jerry Bridges and Randy Alcorn. Tom and I will be driving to Atlanta next week for the NAFEM show, and we are planning to listen to all the messages that are now available HERE.
My blog is committed to exploring the joys and challenges in this season of life called Grandparenting. How kind of God to make these messages available for those of us labeled "Baby Boomers". I've added a excellent video clip below of the trailer of this conference. It's only a couple of minutes long, and well worth watching. NOTE: Before watching the video be sure to pause the music from my playlist on the right.

You know who comes to my mind is Judy Jones. She truly has persevered...I pray that I can in some way follow in her footsteps.
Amen to that! She exudes the endurance of the saints. I can only hope that I will be like her at that age! What a sweet lady she is.
What gray hair!? Isn't that what we pay Rose for? J/K :) This is so right on! I read Piper's 'Roots of Endurance' this summer...the one about William Wilberforce...and I'm VERY excited to see them continuing this subject in seminar form! Thanks for posting about it!
