I have a friend who's grandmother just passed away unexpectedly. In going through her home in the week following her Memorial Service they found several journals. As they began to read what her Grandmother had written they discovered page after page of hand-written prayers to her Heavenly Father for each of them, her family members. They knew that she had committed herself to diligently pray for them, but they didn't know that she had recorded these prayers for them to read and cherish. It was a rich library of prayers to God for their benefit.
Somewhere in the Bible I once read that our prayers are continually before the Throne of God (I have tried and tried to find this verse to no avail!) and even though my friend's grandmother has passed from this world, her prayers will continue before the Throne of God. What a picture of God's willingness to not only hear our prayers, but to answer them in His time.
It is my desire to be that kind of wife, mother and Nana - one who continually offers prayers before the throne of grace on behalf of my family. Sadly, I have realized how often I neglect this spiritual discipline, but this year, by God's help, I plan to become an interceder. Yes, Christ is constantly interceding for us before God's throne, and I want to be one who joins in on His prayers. This will only happen as I purpose to be still, listen and pray.

Wow . . .what a priceless treasure that is actually worth so much more than any material thing she could have left behind for them. That is just precious.
