Day Three from Barbados!
Tom's day yesterday went much better -- he took food and water with him to the prison as well as a towel that he could wet to cool himself off in the heat of the day. He was able to get most of the equipment up and running except for a couple of large bakery ovens. All in all he was pleased with how the day went, but was glad to be back at the hotel.
The appetizers in the Executive Lounge have been so good that we haven't had to buy dinner yet. Last night we had bajan chicken wings and vegetable samosas - delicious! We did go to the restaurant the night before last just to have their dessert buffet. It was very good. We signed up for the hotel's Starlight BBQ, which is dinner served on the beach. They set up romantic tables under the stars with a live band for entertainment. That should be fun. We heard about another restaurant just around the corner from here that is supposed to be really good. We'll see...
When we returned to our room they had provided turn-down service with chocolate and bottled water on our bed tables. And, they had a local Christian radio playing "Here I Am To Worship". It was like a breath of fresh air. I prayed this morning that God would direct our steps while we are here and let us meet anyone that He would want us to meet. Well, I just met "Dezerah" the lady who works in housekeeping and is assigned our room in the day. She is Pentecostal as is her entire family. She said that her mother raised all of them in the church. Dezerah told me that the island is very Christian. In fact, when I turned on the TV this morning to a local program called "Mornin' Barbados" the anchor was interviewing three young people about what it's like to be a Christian on the island. It was very interesting. So I'm praying for the people that live here that God would move in a mighty way among the Bajans (pronounced Bay-juns).
My writing is coming along well. I haven't started yet today, because I've been trying to workout each day too. I've managed to do it two days in a row!! Woo - Hoo!!
Oh, by the way, we are on the same time zone as Orlando. We had thought we would be an hour ahead, but we're not. I miss you all! I'm getting great pictures -- but haven't had a chance to go shopping yet. I'm waiting for Tom to go with me. :-)

I'm so jealous!!! Your place is beautiful and sounds amazing. I'm so glad you and Tom will have some down time before you return home to your busy lives. Stare at the ocean for me while you're there!!
Love you,
Mel
I know - we still can't believe we're here! I have only been on the beach once and that was last night at sunset to get some good pictures. I think I'm going to finish my book!!! I have only three more chapters to go. I'm so excited!!!
I am so glad to hear that you are almost finished with the book! That will be a HUGE weight lifted off of you shoulders. Your place looks amazing. Class went well today in your house...I have 10 + 1 Mom in the class. I think you need to add on again...j/k =) Can't wait to see you. Norah misses you too!
The Bajans don't use their a/c, so I think rather than add on we'll just move the class outside - bajan style! What do you think? :-)
Kiss Norah on her little chubby cheeks for me.
Bristol misses you!(And so does Whizzer)See you soon!
Love, Jason
