Resolutions!
This time of year that's all we hear about, but it hasn't deterred me from making my New Year's Resolutions. If I had to pick one thing that I want to be faithful with this year it would be listening. Tom and I have talked quite a bit about what being still and listening to God would accomplish in our lives. We are so quick to dart from here to there not taking the time to stop and listen. It's almost as if we feel guilty if our hands are not busy doing something. But what if the something is really the most important thing, like Mary, Martha's sister who chose to sit at the Lord's feet to not only hear, but listen to what Jesus was saying to her in that moment? Jesus commended her for choosing the good part. How I long to hear Him say that about me, and I believe I will if I take the time to listen. He is always speaking in a still, small voice. But the world we live in is loud and obtrusive. If I fail to make the time to be still, chances are I won't hear what He's saying to me.
Last year the Lord led me to read through the Bible in a year along with several other ladies from our church. Twelve of us succeeded, and we're going to have a celebration the end of this month. For many this was their first time, and what a joy it will be to celebrate with them. This year, Tom and I are reading through the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs. Sheree Phillips found a great resource that allows you to read about one chapter a day to get through in one year. If you would like to join us just let me know! I'll be sending out encouragements throughout the year to help those who want to read God's Word on a consistent basis. This provided much needed accountability to keep us motivated when the road seemed long and tedious.
I know you're wondering why I haven't posted any new pictures of my cute granddaughters, Bristol has been sick so I haven't seen her in a couple of weeks! I miss that sweet little face. Then, added to that we were away and unable to take new pictures. Check out their blogs (look on the side bar where it says Bristol and Norah's blogs), their Mommies do a great job keeping current with their growth. I can't believe that they just turned 7 months! What a blessing from God!

Chrissie,
I would love to include you and Cassie in on our Club for 2008. Can you send me your e-mail addresses? Then, I'll add you to our group list. Thanks! I'm so excited that you're going to travel with us this year!
Debbie,
I so failed at the reading through the Bible this past year. I just gave up too soon I think. After everything with my dad I feel so behind. I would love to try again this year! Add me to the list! The Smith Girls can hold me accountable!
Oh and I love progressive dinners! We did a church wide one this year. It was alot of work but well worth the effort! I think it would be fun to do a small group like you did! It was so good seeing everyone in the picture. We miss you all too very much!
