Counting The Days Until...

You haven't heard from me in awhile because we've been away -- far, far away! Tom and I were blessed to attend the wedding of Philipp Gollner and Sarah Rose in beautiful Washington state. The wedding was small - held in the oldest church on the Oregon Trail in the small community of Claquato. There were only 6 rows of pews, and we filled it to the brim. Sarah made her wedding gown and Philipp had his suit coat made complete with tails. It was special in that Todd Twining did the ceremony in both German and English; Most of Philipp's family don't speak English, so the German translation was very meaningful to them. Todd did a great job, at least that's what those who speak German said. The highlight of the day was hearing the old church bells clanging once the Bride and Groom were formally introduced to us. This was Philipp's Dad's job, and he enjoyed it completely.

After the wonderful reception, we headed north to Vancouver, British Columbia with Todd and Michelle to spend the weekend with our sister church, Crossway Community Church led by Tony Walsh. In case you don't remember them...he is the brother of Dan Walsh - pastor of Sovereign Grace Community Church in Daytona Beach. What a wonderful time we had! Pat Sczebel gave us a wonderful tour of beautiful, albeit wet, Vancouver.

I will post more pictures of our time soon but...the republican debate is on, and I don't know for sure who I'm voting for yet. Do you? Yikes...the primary is only a couple of weeks away! God help us to pick the right person for the job.

I have wondered where you were! Wow, what a great time you had! And Todd speaks German too??? Is there anything Todd cannot do? Isn't the Oregon Trail awesome? Our Nicholas was born in Oregon! I love history!
Glad you had a great time away! God is so good!
