Tomorrow, Sunday, September 16th, marks the 29th anniversary of the day that Tom Walter proposed to ME! I still can't believe that he chose me to be his bride, and I have loved the years we've had together as husband and wife. But how can it be that 29 years have passed since that Saturday morning in 1978 when he picked me up in his silver and burgundy Mercury Monaco? How can it be that almost 3 decades have passed since we began our journey? I don't have an answer as to how time flies, but I am grateful to God that all my time since that day has included Tom!
On that Saturday morning, Tom picked me up and took me out for breakfast at a little country cafe called Robin's Restaurant. It is no longer in business, but we often go to breakfast in little diners to remember that day long ago. After a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs, grits, sausage and biscuits (still my favorite), he drove to Kraft Azalea Gardens in Winter Park where he found a bench next to the lake for us to sit and talk. It was there that he communicated his desire to marry me if I would have him! I didn't have to think at all - for I had been praying that this moment would come.
I said, "yes, yes, yes", and then, this large German shepherd came running out on the dock soaking wet having just emerged from the lake! He shook out his excess water all over us, but that didn't dampen our joy in the least! I was engaged to be married, and I couldn't wait for our life together to begin!
Thank you, God, for the gift of Tom and the many memories that we share!

What a cute couple. I've always thought Tracy looked the most like you, but in this picture I so see Heather.
Wow! I love it! Thanks for sharing that!!! Congratulations on so many years together - and for bringing God the glory in your life together!
